The Pediatric Pain Management Service
manages both acute and chronic pain. The majority of acute pain patients are recovering from surgery or trauma. Children who are experiencing chronic or recurrent acute pain may be referred to The Blaustein Pain Center
, which provides such interventional therapies as neural blockade, spinal cord stimulation, and intrathecal therapy. The Pediatric Pain Management Service also provides care for children with pain due to cancer, chemotherapy, and a variety of medical diseases.
