Baltimore radio station 101.9 Lite FM and its listeners raised more than $23,000 for Hopkins Children’s in an online week-long auction that ended Dec. 9. The station's annual auction of Miracle Collection ties autographed by celebrities like Ben Carson, M.D., Maroon 5, Baltimore Ravens and Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, was hosted by deejays Greg Carpenter and Diane Lyn during the morning show program. Listeners bid on the ties or called in donations. ANNUAL CELEBRITY TIE AUCTION

Manufactured and sold by JoS. A. Bank annually, Miracle Collection ties are designed on the artwork of Hopkins Children’s patients. When neurosurgeon Carson stopped by the radio station for a live conversation, he autographed a tie designed by Alyssa Klebasko, 6, of Odenton, Md. “This is a wonderful annual occasion,” he said.
